Are you a veteran looking to support fellow veterans in the community?
Become a force for good
Our lives are not measured by what we get, but by what we give. If you have a natural gift for empathy and want to make a difference, we can help you be a force for good in the lives of those most in need.
Gentiva Hospice is looking for willing veterans to provide companionship and emotional support to veteran patients with life limiting conditions and their caregivers. Our patients reside in homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities all over Pinal County. How you serve and how often is completely up to you!
Here are a few examples of how our Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteers support:
- reminiscing/telling their life stories
- record a legacy
- taking part in pinning ceremonies
- replacing lost medals
- providing comfort and companionship to fellow Veterans
- honoring fellow veterans at the end of life
You choose how you want to serve and how often.
NO medical experience is needed as volunteers DO NOT perform nursing duties or dispense medication.
To become a volunteer, all you need is a compassionate heart. Our volunteer training will teach you everything you need to know to be a companion for someone during their end-of-life journey. You’ll learn valuable skills in grief counseling, spiritual and emotional support, and end-of-life care.
Please leave us your NAME, PHONE NUMBER and EMAIL ADDRESS so we can get in touch with you to discuss the benefits of being a Gentiva volunteer!
